Week One Results

I almost forgot to post my results from week one!

I lost 7.2lbs and 2 1/2 inches around my waist!!!!

I'm sure excited and think this is a great start - by next week I'd like to lose another 5lbs, so I'm going to work at that this week for sure.  I'll post pictures on week 4

Walk This Way

I forced myself to go on a walk tonight, and I do mean forced.  After work I went over to my mom and dad's house and made dinner for my dad's birthday, not that healthy of a meal (although I did cut down on my portions and did not have seconds, so that's a little win) and after I got home I just felt gross, but really tired and unmotivated.  I already had the dogs on the leash from leaving my parents so I just grabbed my coat out of the car and took off before I could decide otherwise.  I'm super glad I did, although I'm finding some sad things out about my walking abilities.  I have no stamina, right now I am walking about 20 mins at a time for only about 1/2 a mile - I really want to increase this.  I've mapped out a few routes around my house that are 1/2 mile and mile long, as well as routes with hills, etc.  For now, I'm sticking with a flat, easy, 1/2 mile loop, and once I can walk that without feeling completely out of breath and sore I'll beef it up a bit.  Poor Delilah needs some conditioning too, I have to drag her the last 1/4 of the loop.

So the plan for the rest of this week is another walk around the loop tomorrow morning, another loop on Saturday and then trying out Riverwalk (1mile) on Sunday.

I really need to make sure I'm stretching out before these walks because my legs are super sore.

Plexus Slim - The Pink Drink

Since I'm re-starting my weight loss journey, I figure I better mention what I'm using.  My Aunt began posting and talking about this new weight loss supplement called "Plexus Slim" - I didn't buy into the whole thing until I started seeing results on my dad.  After just two weeks on Plexus I could visually see the changes in him but the coolest part has been the effect on his blood sugar levels, which are coming in at NORMAL - not diabetic normal, like person without diabetes normal - and this was without any change in diet or exercise.  I decided I would give it a try.

I started my Plexus drink on Tuesday, March 12th.  I am taking the "pink drink" which is a powder you mix with water and drink twice a day and the Accelerator which is a natural stimulant you take in the morning.  So far, so good - I am not really experiencing any bad side affects.  I notice that my mood is improving and so is my energy level - a big thing for me is that I haven't had (or wanted) ANY coffee (I loved my morning Americano) and I think collectively I've drank about 12oz of soda (I am a soda freak, anyone who knows me will tell you that).  I'm excited about these changes and hope I continue to have results.

Below I will post my Day 1 vs Day 4 results from Plexus - I am already down 5lbs and a few inches.  On Tuesday I will do my weekly weigh in and will share those results with you.  I'll update my photos and measurements on a monthly basis.

If you'd like info on Plexus Slim I will provide you with my Aunt Fawn's website.  I'll try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge and with my own experiences :-)

Dust Yourself Off, Get Back Up Again

After a 3 month hiatus of binging on food and great wine, I'm back to where I started, but highly motivated to get back into a routine.  Like any good addict, I am fresh out of self-rehab and ready for a new leash on life....so here we are again.

What's the plan for success this time?  I'm still working on that, but what I've decided is that small goal setting and small changes are what work for me - often I try to hard to go big or go home and end up burning out after a few weeks (that's what happened before).

Here are some short term goals that I want to accomplish by June 1st:

1.) Be able to walk twice around Riverwalk Park (2 miles) in an hour

2.) Drop 2 dress sizes

3.)  Drink my 64 oz of water each day

These are all attainable goals that I think I can do, but can't at this time.  I'm going to make small goals each month to work towards these bigger goals, and each week I'll set myself up with tasks to help those goals, for example:

By April 1st my goal is to:
1.) Walk the Riverwalk Park loop once, two times per week.

2.)  Plan weekly menus

3.)  Pack large water bottles for work each day

This week I will focus on walking Riverwalk at least once, planning my weekly menu and purchasing large water bottles that I can take to work.

K - so there's the plan, let's see how I do.  I'll try to keep you kids posted.
