Gettin' Clean

Sorry I haven't updated this much - I shall try my best to be a little more diligent.  Tomorrow I'll get pics and measurements and all of that important stuff to post on here.  FOR NOW:

I am cleansing...yes...as we speak I am ridding my body of toxins, goblins and impure thoughts.  Ok, maybe not the last two, but I am getting rid of all the gobbily-goop that is held up inside me.

I started my 10 day herbal cleanse today.  After chatting with a few people and doing a little google search I landed on the Advocare 10 Day Herbal Cleanse.  What I liked about this cleanse is that you get to eat!  Actually you are supposed to eat often, which is hard to get used to.  Obviously I do my fair share of eating but it's usually two large meals and a snack.  How did I get my luscious figure by only eating three times a day?  I ate crap when I did eat, sweet, delicious, completely bad for you crap - preferably fried.  SO now I'm training myself to eat often but to make better choices about what I eat.

Restrictions - there are a few.  I'm supposed to steer clear of dairy products, sugars, bleached flour, wheat and alcohol.  I'm encouraged to eat a lot of fruit, veggies and whole grains.

Here's how I'm making it work for me so far:
*Magic Lunch Box - I have packed my tinkerbell lunch box full of single serving size snacks - which makes it a lot easier to follow when I'm at work.

*Snack Ideas - I've been trying to come up with at least 15 different snack combos so that I can keep some variety during this cleanse.  I'm scared that if I get bored I'll fall off the wagon very easy.

*Water!  WATER!!!! - I'm drinking a TON of water - this really helps with the tummy rumbling.  When I start feeling hungry I just guzzle down water and it totally helps.

So it's just day 1, which is usually an easy day for me because I'm all gun-ho about it - so we'll check back in on this on day 5 when I'm really starting to crave the no-no foods.

I'm re-reading this and deciding that I kind of write like I talk - so sorry to those that were looking for a well-written piece on healthy living.  You should be glad I haven't put any fart jokes in yet.

  2. Oh I am so jealous! I have always wanted to do a cleanse (it is next on my taking-care-of-me to-do list!) I bet you are going to feel like a different person in 10 days! You got this - no prob!

I don't know the exact details of the Advocare cleanse, but I would also suggest tea. Especially on these cold days, it helps to have a cup of tea in between meals too, warms you up too!

    Woo hoo!!!!!!!

  3. Very proud of you! Also, I thought you might like to know that in Britain a "lunch box" is a slang term for a gentleman's private area so a "magic lunch box" is very amusing.
